  1. “The Story of the Flood” in Genesis sends a message of a moral though the story. The main idea of the story is that god has taken his time to create man but just as well he can start over with man. The flood represents the cleansing of mankind. God felt that mankind was full of wickedness and evil and something must be done to fix it. To fix this god wiped out man except for Noah who he did not see evil in, he built the arc to save his family and two of every animal. The moral shows that if mankind loses faith that god can destroy the flesh that he himself created.

  2. The story teaches us that how much time he put into his people he will easily get rid of us. The flood shows his complete power and awe over the tiny people he created. But it also shows that he still he still doesn't want to get rid of his accomplishment. He tells the man who had the least amount of evil in him which is Noah, he give him the task of saving the animals and his family to hopefully make a better future. There are many lessons, for example how when his family starts to loose hope in god so they send out a pigeon to find land. The pigeon comes back with a olive branch which brings back hope. this shows that God can always be relied on in desperate times.

The story teaches that God was not trying to destroy humans. He was trying to get rid of the sin and wickedness inside of them. It shows Gods strength and how when humans get too sinful, he will start all over again. But, it also shows that God doesn't want to completely get rid of his greatest creation. He just had to get rid of sins, and he chose to do that with a giant flood. He chose the best man he could, the man with the least amount of sin. He chose Noah to be the one to survive the flood and to save the animals of the planet.

  4. The Bible's various stories are written in parables or stories with morals. One of these stories is "The Story of the Flood," one that is familiar to anybody, Christian or not. There are different morals to the story. One can be that you should trust people. When god told Noah to build a boat because he was going to make a flood, Noah built a boat. He could not have built a boat and not believed God, however, he trusted him and built one. Also, a moral is to never give up. Noah sent out birds three times. Noah could have given up and believed all hope was lost, but he continued to send out birds until the dove came with the olive branch.

  5. I feel that in “The Flood Story,” it teaches many morals. I think that the most important lesson it teaches is that God was not trying to punish humans. Throughout this story, it explains how God saw that as the men multiplied on earth, so did the evil. “The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence” (47). He was terrified of the wickedness of man and just wanted to revise what he created. So he chose Noah to build an ark and take his family and two of each animal along with him to keep them safe. God then created a flood to wipeout all of mankind and started over a new beginning.

  6. In Genesis chapter 6-9 God is teaching that he is in control of all man kind. The values in this story is God showing humans that they should respect what he wants. If they choose to disobey him and continue to sin throughout their lives he can easily destroy them just as quickly as he made them. He doesn't wish to scared or kill his creatures, but he would like them to follow his rules. It also shows that not every person is a sinner, God chose Noah to be a leader during the world's punishment because he knows he is faithful to him. In Genesis it teaches to follow God's rules and not all people are the same.

  7. Genesis 6-9 has many values and morals that a person could get from this story. The flood represents that god can just as easily smite us as he did create us and also that it is the cleaning of the earth, a new beginning. It also teaches that you should trust God, like when he asked Noah to build a boat and get two of every animal so as not to completely wipe out creation. God was not trying to eradicate all life: he was just trying to get rid of all the sin and evil in the world. the story also has symbolism, like when the dove returned to Noah with an olive branch, symbolizing that all was peaceful and that the flood had stopped. This story has many morals and values, and it shows that stories can have many different meanings.

  8. The story teaches that God, with all his power, was not trying to destroy the life he created. He knew the flood was coming so he warned Noah to build the boat and load 2 of each animal. This shows that even though he was forming this flood, he wanted life to go on and recreate itself after it was over. Also, God shows that Noah and humanity can trust him. If they decide not to, he let them know that with his powers, he could punish them easily, and quickly. This story taught us that God wants his people to follow him in full trust, and obey him.

  9. In the story The Flood, many morals can be learned. The story was trying to teach that god was trying to get rid of all sins. He only destroyed the humans because he saw too many sinful things that he didn't like. This story shows that if there are bad people, how easily it is for god to start the human race over. I think that the main moral of the story is to trust god and not be a sinner. Since god didn't get rid of everyone in the world, it shows that god wouldn't ever want to destroy his best creation. This story has a lot of morals.

  10. In this story, it teaches that God was not targeting to destroy the life in which he made; he was targeting to destroy the sin and evil that man had created on Earth. God wanted his people to look up to him, and to be good. Deciding that a flood would destroy the sins and evil; there was only one man who was warned of it, and that man was Noah. Noah looked up to God for guidance, for he did not sin like the rest of man on Earth. The responsibility of continuing life on Earth after this flood was given to Noah; because God had trust and faith in him. He was instructed to build an ark, and collect two of each animal, and he did as he was told, and survived the storm. So the moral of this story could be that if your sinful actions are few, and you obey and trust God, he will give you great things in return.

  11. The story teaches us that God was not trying to destroy all humans. He was just trying to teach us a lesson. He wanted to get rid of the wickedness and the sinning going on. He made the flood because too many people were sinning. The story shows that since God did not get rid of all humans, he did not want to completely get rid of us. He chose Noah to be the person to survive the flood because he did not sin as much as other people.

  12. The flood story teaches that humanity is corrupt and god can cleanse us of our sins. His promise shows that even though humanity made him angry he is willing to forgive. The story shows that the only things important is god, selflesness, family, and respect for nature. these elements are shown in god's directions to Moses. God shows favor in Moses because he shows all of these qualities in his daily life. The story has many subliminal messages that are different depending on the translator or reader.

  13. In Genesis chapter 6-9 God is trying to purify the world of all sin. God noticed that the world was becoming evil and corrupt. God chose Noah to build an arch so that he could save his family, the animals, and repopulate the earth. God sent a flood to cleanse the world, and it did everything was destroyed. After 40 days and 40 nights the water finally receded, and the arch came to land. Once on shore Noah and his family rebuilt the world together and God’s will was done the world was again pure.

  14. In The Flood, a few morals could be learned. The flood in the story shows how God has more power than anything on the earth. The story showed that he could just wipe out the entire world. The Flood told the readers of the Bible that if they sinned that he could just destroy everything on the earth. This is some of the morals the story, The Flood, had.

  15. The bible can be viewed in parables. (Short stories designed to teach lessons or morals.) "The Story of the Flood" Genesis 6-9, teaches more than one moral. In the story, God sees the evil and sin throughout mankind. He creates a flood to destroy the human race; all except one family. He has Noah create an arc built for his family and two of every animal. Noah obeys without question-a reason why God chose Noah to do his bidding. God saw little to no sin in Noah and knew that Noah trusted and honored him. The story teaches that if you obey God and follow His rules, you will be rewarded. I believe the story also teaches that what God giveth, God taketh away. The reader knows that God has the power to create mankind, and can just as easily destroy it too. Overall, the story in Genesis 6-9 exemplifies as to why humans should do the right thing and obey God.

  16. The Bible throught all the short stories teaches us on how to be a good person. The flood story shows that just god alone could exterminate the human population. Also that people have to be willing to work hard to continue living. The flood story also teaches determination and the power to not give up. Some may even say that you should not put yourself before others in need.

  17. The story of Genesis 6-9 tells of how God wanting to start over. He had Noah build an ark. God wanted to cleanse the Earth and stop the "wickedness" in the man that he created. God chose Noah to be the person that would save the animals and make it possible for life on Earth to continue. I think this work teaches about faith. God just wanted the humans he created to obey him and his plan for them.

I believe that in the Genesis there were many morals and lessons taught. For example, ”The Flood" was created because there was so much sinning going on and he wanted to cleanse everyone’s souls. God wanted to rid them all of the evil they were all creating towards one another. He didn't want to destroy all humans he just wanted to destroy the negative and hatred. However there was one person informed of the flood named Noah because he did not sin as much as everyone else did and he looked up to God. For he followed god and listened to him; therefore when God told him to build a boat and get two of every animal he did as he said and in return he survived. The moral of this story is to follow god and trust him for great things will come in return if you abide by the rules set forth by him.

  19. The Genesis stories teach you to think rationally. In "The Flood" God saw there was sin and even in the world and decided everyone should have to pay. He thought that wiping out an entire race of people he wouldn't have to worry about all of the evil on earth. He should have tried to solve the problem of sin. Instead he blew it out of proportion and just destroyed everyone, good and bad. The only person warned about the flood that destroyed the human race was Noah who was believed to be a non sinner and follower of god. Noah could not have been the only human in our entire population who did not sin. After god made this impulsive extreme decision he realized how wrong it was and vowed to never do it again.
